Abstract
ABSTRACT Here, we report the draft genome sequence of “ Candidatus Liberibacter europaeus” ASNZ1, assembled from broom psyllids ( Arytainilla spartiophila ) from New Zealand. The assembly comprises 15 contigs, with a total length of 1.33 Mb and a G+C content of 33.5%.

Draft Genome Sequence of a “ Candidatus Brocadia” Bacterium Enriched from Activated Sludge Collected in a Tropical Climate

Citation
Liu et al. (2018). Genome Announcements 6 (19)
Names
Ca. Brocadia
Abstract
ABSTRACT Here, we present the draft genome sequence of an anaerobic ammonium-oxidizing bacterium (AnAOB), “ Candidatus Brocadia,” which was enriched in an anammox reactor. A 3.2-Mb genome sequence comprising 168 contigs was assembled, in which 2,765 protein-coding genes, 47 tRNAs, and one each of 5S, 16S, and 23S rRNAs were annotated. No evidence for the presence of a nitric oxide-forming nitrite reductase was found.

Draft Genome Sequence of “Candidatus Phycosocius bacilliformis,” an Alphaproteobacterial Ectosymbiont of the Hydrocarbon-Producing Green Alga Botryococcus braunii

Names
Ca. Phycosocius bacilliformis
Abstract
ABSTRACT “ Candidatus Phycosocius bacilliformis” is an alphaproteobacterial ectosymbiont of the hydrocarbon-producing green alga Botryococcus braunii . We sequenced the whole genome of “ Ca. P. bacilliformis” BOTRYCO-2, isolated from a two-membered culture with B. braunii . The genome contains approximately 3.3 Mb, with an average G+C content of 56.91% and 3,125 predicted protei

Draft Genome Sequences of New Genomospecies “ Candidatus Pectobacterium maceratum” Strains, Which Cause Soft Rot in Plants

Citation

Names
Ca. Pectobacterium maceratum
Abstract
ABSTRACT Investigation of collections of phytopathogenic bacteria has revealed some strains distinct from known Pectobacterium spp. We report here the draft genome sequences of five such strains, isolated during the period of 1947 to 2012. Based on comparative genomics, we propose a new candidate genomospecies of the genus Pectobacterium , “ Candidatus Pectobacterium maceratum.”

Genome Sequence of “ Candidatus Carsonella ruddii” Strain BT from the Psyllid Bactericera trigonica

Citation
Katsir et al. (2018). Genome Announcements 6 (4)
Names
Ca. Carsonella ruddii
Abstract
ABSTRACT The genome of “ Candidatus Carsonella ruddii” strain BT from Bactericera trigonica in Israel was sequenced. The full-length genome is 173,904 bp long and has a G+C content of 14.6%, with 224 predicted open reading frames (ORFs) and 30 RNAs.

Complete 4.55-Megabase-Pair Genome of “ Candidatus Fluviicola riflensis,” Curated from Short-Read Metagenomic Sequences

Citation
Banfield et al. (2017). Genome Announcements 5 (47)
Names
Ca. Fluviicola riflensis
Abstract
ABSTRACT We report the 4.55-Mbp genome of “ Candidatus Fluviicola riflensis” ( Bacteroidetes ) that was manually curated to completion from Illumina data. “ Ca . Fluviicola riflensis” is a facultative anaerobe. Its ability to grow over a range of O 2 levels may favor its proliferation in an aquifer adjacent to the Colorado River in the United States.

High-Quality Draft Genome Sequence of “ Candidatus Methanoperedens sp.” Strain BLZ2, a Nitrate-Reducing Anaerobic Methane-Oxidizing Archaeon Enriched in an Anoxic Bioreactor

Citation

Names
Ca. Methanoperedens
Abstract
ABSTRACT The high-quality draft genome of “ Candidatus Methanoperedens sp.” strain BLZ2, a nitrate-reducing archaeon anaerobically oxidizing methane, is presented. The genome was obtained from an enrichment culture and measures 3.74 Mb. It harbors two nitrate reductase gene clusters, an ammonium-forming nitrite reductase, and the complete reverse methanogenesis pathway. Methane that escapes to the atmosphere acts as a potent greenhouse gas. Global m
