Description
The genus is defined by relative evolutionary divergence (RED) and phylogenomic analysis as a monophyletic group. Strictly anaerobic and chemoheterotrophic cocci. Utilize methanol and mono-, di- and trimethylamines only in combination with H2 as substrates for methanogenesis.
